About
I have been working with yoga for 25 years. I am a qualified yoga teacher and yoga therapist. I gained a 700 hour teaching qualification as an AYS and BWY accredited teacher and am registered with the Complimentary and Natural Health Care Council, the only recognised organisation of yoga therapists. I maintain continual professional development, undertaking training and retreats supported by my own daily practice. I teach with respect to the traditions of Krishnamarcharya and T.K.V Desikichar.
Prior to yoga, I worked within the community in physical rehabilitation for adults, within community arts and as an advocacy worker with Realtime Video in Reading.
Teaching yoga enables me to integrate my work with my passion for yoga. Through yoga I aim to improve people's quality of life through transferring skills of self-nurture, independence and self-realization. The practice of yoga can offer all these things in an accessible way, at any level, for any individual. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 having made a full recovery my journey inspires and grounds my teaching.
Through 'Gentlystrongyoga', I aim to bring yoga to Reading's diverse community.
I am married with three children.
